I'd contact your header manufacturer and find out what they recommmend to use at the joints..... IMO, I can't see ANY TYPE of silicone working for what you've described.... Ryan

We have used red silicone as a suppliment to the gaskets at the head. If it didn't burn up there, 18 inces away from the head should work.
