Has anyone changed to a steel gear i am running a comp cam hydro roller the retro style any ways i found one on cranes site but what size is the dist shaft for this model it is a 8485 for the 351w no im not dumb i dont have the dist hear yet its on the way from a person in texas thank you in advanced oh yeah i forgot to mention you guys are great im glad to be a part of this information 1320 (oh i mean highway) lol Bruce

Which cam core do you have?
An 8620 steel billet or an "Austempered Iron" billet?
This will determine gear selection.

i might have to call comp cams as the part# 35-452-8 and the grind # fw 290rf-hr10 any help would be great i believe it requires the steel gear or brass and the brass is really soft the cast iron or ductile is to hard and the steel is just right for pourage opps wrong storie sorry about that lol Bruce

I called comp and they said it does need a steel gear and he said no to brass it is to soft and it will wear it out to fast so now back to my question at hand what sixe is the shaft on my msd billet 8584 dist shaft is it .531 ?????? bruce
