I noticed a strong vibration at the 1/8 mile mark and had to let off the gas in the third round of elims. Good thing I let off! When I got to the trailer I notice the u-joint was letting go. Its a spicer solid and I figured it should of held up better than that. But, after it was removed and I talked with my driveline guy he asked if I had the right u-joint in the rear? It was the u-joint that was installed when I put my new 3rd member in. After close investigation it ended up being .06" smaller than the one that should have been in there. I have put a good 40 passes on the car since this was put in! Anyways, to make this long story shorter, always check to make sure the right u-joint is installed when changing rear ends. The new spicer u-joint is 5-792X with 1.06 caps and 1.125 caps.------------------ 351c 4v clsd heads 60'1.619 1/8 [email protected] 1/4 [email protected]
