today while i was backing out of my driveway i hare a strange clunking noise comming fromt the tail end of the car, but it makes no noise while driving forward..? is this something i should be concerned of, because ive never heard it till now??Jace

check for play in the u joints first i have a feeling that was your clunk..

but would it only make that sound if the car was in reverse? Jace

i checked for play in the U-joints.. none.. any ideas?Jace

Pull the driveshaft and see how much play you have in the rear by turning the yoke with your hand. Check the rear wheel bearings also.
