...a harmonic balancer puller? Snapped the threaded rod in two. Un-believable.

I've removed the pulley and the crank bolt. I hope I just had a cheap puller even though I've used it many times.

Wow, that is unusual

I've always dabbed the crank snout with antiseize prior to balancer install, never broke a puller. I also use blue loctite on the balancer bolt just to be safe

I have broken cheap pullers on BB Chevy`s before (those things are on TIGHT!!), but never a Ford.

did you take the washer out ? that could bust one , how hard were you laying into it?
