in my planning for my "perfect engine" i'm looking at the 270H as well as the XE268H. both have the same intake duration at .50 but the 268 has .01 more lift and is also tighter advertized.

This increase in ramp speed on the intake, that is a good thing right?

Which would be better, the single pattern or dual pattern??

Try to find out the duration at .200 lift.
I would imagine that the XE cam has a little more duration at .200

If memory serves, the 270H is the 270 magnum, and measures 224 @ 0.050" on both intake and exhaust with a 110 degree lobe seperation.

The XE268H is a split duration unit, with more timing on the exhaust, and the same 110 lobe seperation.

The Xtreme Energy unit is a more modern grind, and is probably a bit more aggressive. I believe it has more lift as well. Go to www.compcams.com and click on their online catalog to check the complete specs of their cams.

Good Luck!
