I just purchased a Strip Dominator intake from a fellow M&M member and have a few questions...Fist of all, I noticed on EBay that there is one for sale currently that has a square mounting flange while mine has a spreadbore design. Does this make any difference power wise? Also, I noticed a pipe plug in the #4 runner, what is this for? I see that there is no provisioning for a vacuum source for my brakes so will I need to purchase a spacer with one provisioned? I read an earlier post that Kid mentioned a writeup was done in a magazine that a place called Wilson Manifolds did some port work on one. I was considering sending this off to them to have them do it up before I put it on the car if you guys think it would be worth it for a Street/Strip car? Thanks in advance!

The Strip Dominator on Ebay has had the carb pad machined to fit a Dominator carb. Your Strip Dominator has normal carb opening. It's trapezoidal with bolt holes that match a Holley 4150/4160. A Motorcraft spreadbore 4300D will bolt up but not a ThermoQuad or Quadrajet spreadbore.Dan Jones

Yes Alex, it is for a 351C. I see now Dan, Thanks. Well, Is it worth it to get this intake gasket match ported? I read a long time ago that the 351C performer intake used smaller ports to help increase the velocity and assist bottom end. Would the same be true by leaving this intake stock or should I have it ported? Still would like to know what the pipe plug is for in the #4 runner as well...Thanks

Wilson is generally fairly expensive. If yours isn't real "dirty" in the ports, I would run it as cast. I ran mine that way for a couple of years before I took the grinder to it the first time. And that was more for cleaning up the ports and making the port exits all the same size and shape than anything else. The second time I took the grinder to it was to work on the plenum. It looks better, but I really don't know if I helped anything or not (I tend to change too many things over the course of the down season to know what really did what). We pulled a vacuum reading out of the port for awhile. But now, it has a pipe plug in it. I'm not real sure what the purpose of it is for.

OK, that splains it more better.
