Unfortunately my 351W is on 7 cylinders. We are going to pull it out Wednesday night, my friend said since we have to pull it down that far and I was going to rebuild it this winter my as well do it now while it's out. Need help selecting a hydraulic cam. I wanted to put a solid back but since we only bracket race and He and his Brother only run hydraulics and each have won the track championship 3 times since 1991 can't really argue with him to much. Anyhow it will be a 351W with stock heads good valve job 9:5:1 RPM intake 750 DP C6 3800 stall 4.56 28" QT pros. It had a soild 244/252 553/572 108ls it ran 8.33 but I was told that cam was to big for my combination and that it would pick up ET with a smaller cam. Looking to shift around 5800 I was thinking the something like: Comp 280H 230@50 512 110 LS Comp 274 Extreme 230/236@50 519/523 110LS Lunati 292 230@50 512 110ls Lunati 285 235% 540 108LS Was wondering which one of these you think would be the best choice or do you know of another cam that would be even better for this combination.

Jerry, if you could handle the minor chores of an occasional valve adjustment, I'd love to see you with a 282S Comp.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." As Alex said, the 282S is probably your best bet... (I like solids in about ANY hotrod) but either of the Comp hydraulics will work fine as well. The Xtreme is the more modern, more aggressive of the hydraulics.Be sure to use good springs regardless of your decision. ------------------ Mike Burch 66 mustang real street 302 4-speed 289 heads 10.63 @ 129.3 http://www.geocities.com/carbedstangs/cmml_mburch.html http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/healey/367 http://www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-display.cgi?220

I have a Comp Cams - Extreme Energy Cam (XE284H - .544 lift) with Lifters that I just pulled out of my 289 because it was a bit too much for it. $110 + Shipping Not sure if that would work with what you are dong, but though I would mention it. Less than 200 miles on it. Email me if you are interested and I can send you pics.------------------ http://65Restomod.com
