I want to build a long rod 351W, but I need to learn more about this. Does anyone know of any online info of this combination? Anyone have one? Are there common components to make it reasonably priced? Or are they not worth the effort?
Thanks,
Dave

i wouldnt bother with it. the 351w has a nice rod ratio of 1.70. a longer rod will give you increased dwell time at BDC and TDC. the increased dwell at TDC allows more time for the combustion process.

Yeah Dave, why?
The long rod theory is pretty much a dead issue.

Thanks, guys.
I was under the impression a long rod 351 would give me more torque for my heavy ragtop. I'll stick with the normal stuff and try a Comp 270S.
