NHRA's page is reporting that Ron Capps took part in a very successful test session in an IROC car.Drag race drivers have traditionally been left out of this series I suppose cause everyone assumes they can't drive around corners. Well.... to that! I contend that anyone who can manhandle a 6000 HP car down a quarter mile at over 300 MPH can drive about anything. Put any of the NASCAR drivers in one and watch the fun. Not that they aren't good drivers, its just such a totally different set of circumstances. I think they'd be scared silly. Capps impressive debut will hopefully get more NHRA drivers into this series which is great for the sport. ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'

IIRC, John Force was real vocal (imagine that ) a few years back about IROC ignoring drag racers. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html
