While checking out some of the race results around the country, I noticed something interesting about the last NMCA race. The format for racing in this organization is primarily heads up in a variety of classes with different chassis, tire, and engine rules. They have three bracket style eliminators but the rest of the classes are heads up fast car wins. Not too long ago it was pretty much a GM show with an occasional Mopar. Look at the results from the last race this spring in Georgia. Class, Driver, Car Pro Street, Pat Musi, 2000 Firebird Pro Outlaw, Chuck Samuel, 2001 Mustang Pro Nostalgia, John Jones, 1966 Fairlane Nostalgia Pro Street, Brian Ferrari, 1966 Chevelle Super Street, Dan Millen, 2002 Mustang Super Modified, Jim Huber, 2000 S-10 Limited Street, Gary Rohe, 1980 Mustang Hot street, Rick Moroso, 2000 Corvette Real Street, Jamie Stanton, 2002 Camaro Drag Radial, Tony Pirez, 1970 Nova These are all heads up classes. It looks to me like the Ford contingent is doing pretty well in the horsepower department these days. Another Mustang won one of the three breakout classes. John
