Hi you guys - This is my first time on MM. I've been checking things out and seems like a great group here.My question is - With my setup (below), what would be your parts list w/ $1000 bucks(Me and my pals do the labor) - that's as far as I can go for now. I've got: 65 conv. Mustang, 302 .40 over, 9.5:1, edelbrock performer heads, ebock perf cam, ebock 289 intake, ebock 1406 carb, T5z, auburn pro 3.55 posi, 1 5/8 long headers, 16x8 225/16/50 - only 3000 miles since rebuilt. So many options - what would you guys do?

I'd second Dubz suggestion! -- However it also depends on just what you want to do with the car...Do you want to cruise the blvds daily, be a strip terror or be a weekend show car. Ryan

Sounds like you already have a nice setup. I'd just buy gas and drive that baby.....

Welcome M65conv!Ben is definitely right - roll bar- and the belts and helmet that come with it. You may even consider poly seats, weight saving. Then more gear - you gotta OD with the T5 - exploit it ------------------ Fred 68 Mustang 500CID/Powerglide - "No Tubs" 86 Mustang GT Cobra

14.00???? Is that a state law? I see guys run faster than that with no roll bar all the time. BTW. I was considering putting one in my '65 primarilly to give me something to tie the four point harnesses to, but I was a little afraid that it would look kind of weird if I only ran mid twelves. I thought that it was in the 11's that you had to have one. Who's got the rule book? Hook a brotha up.

Only convertables have to have rollbars below 14.00 per NHRA rulebook. Cars with a roof can go to 12.00. If you are going to put in a roll bar, you have to have at least 5 points. There must be a side bar on the drivers side. Anything less is not legal. ------------------ Ben Grabber Green '70 Mach I 351C 4V Robbin Egg Blue '79 Fairmont 351C 4V

Didn't realize I'd have to put a roll bar in yet, haven't even started looking into it. Are any available that don't look too bulky but still get the job done?
