My buddy and I bought an edelbrock Performer cam, lifters and timing chain at a swap meet. Now he's ready to put it in the car and on the inside of the Edelbrock Performer Box - IN MAGIC MARKER - somebody wrote Marine Cam?? What does that mean and is there a way to tell by looking at the cam what we really have?? Thanks, Ernie

There will be a "grind number" stamped or engraved on the front or rear face of the cam. The cam was probably returned by somebody and the original owner wrote the "marine cam" in the box.

FYI.
When I need an intake I get one from a company that specializes in intakes.
When I need a carb I try to get one from a company that specializes in carbs.
When I need headers, well you know where I'm going with this.

Get your high performance cams from CAM COMPANIES!
