Does anyone know if the hurst competition plus shifter and linkage is the same for a toploader no matter what they year,65-70 mustang. For example would one off of a 69 fit on a 66.I'm wondering if the linkage may be a little different to fit around the crossmember or something. Also would the mounting plate be different?I'm looking for a shifter to fit a 66 mustang with a toploader.

Apparently there are different types between the 65-70 Mustang Toploader competition plus shifters. If you can get the part number off the shifter or of what you have/find, you may be able to cross-reference it to their Spec sheet.
