afret Gearhead Posts: 116 From: Lancaster, CA Registered: Feb 2003	posted 03-20-2003 04:37 PM I ordered new ring gear bolts from Ratech to install my Detroit locker. I think the original Ford bolts for this application had a 3/4 inch head. The Ratech bolts are the correct length and diameter but has a 5/8 inch head. Even the ARP bolts have a 5/8 inch head. Are these Ratech bolts OK to use or should I go hunting for the bolts with the 3/4 inch head? Thanks. IP: Logged

I went and got a set with the 3/4 inch heads at a driveshaft/rearend shop in town this afternoon. [Nice to be retired ] Since you said the Ratech bolts are OK (they are grade 8), now I don't know which one to use. IP: Logged
