In my experience a high volume pump requires a larger oil pan.The amount of oil it will flow will suck a stock pan dry lets say doing a burnout where a continuos high rpm is sustained. With a stock pan and engine bearings clearences correct a stock oil pump should be more then efficent. This is not written in stone and i would be curious to hear from some other guys on this.Dennis ------------------ 69 fairlane 351w 12.94@103mph before M&M.. after?? always in search of more HP and faster ET'S Fstln69 Pics Page

I vote for a HV pump and lighter Synthetic oil. Don't ask me why. SteveW
