could someone please tell me what the dimensional differences are as well as the basic differences between these two ford transmissions??

The quickest ID is that the C4 has a removable bellhousing and the C6 has a one piece case. The C6 has larger, stronger internals so it produces more power loss.

C-6 weighs 150lbs C-4 105lbs,without converter.

c4 =30+1/8" long
c6 =33+1/2" long
There are also some c6 that are about 4" longer with a strange rear mount.

length front of case to mount
c4 =19+5/8"
c6 = 22+3/8"
