I'm just being stubborn i guess, but I dont want to have to go through getting new valve springs, studs, and stall converter for a bigger cam. So I was thinking, instead of a 270h or 268h, what about something like a 262h or 264h. This way all I would have to change are the cam and lifters and it would only cost like $140, right? How much power would I gain? Would I also gain gas mileage? Thanks

It's your call, but I wish I'd of gone big early so I wouldn't have had to do it twice. If you are like me, then you will always be looking for a little more. If you put a mild cam in now, I bet you'll be swapping it out in a year or two. It's your call, nobody can decide how much pain and money a few more ponies are worth to you. If you're worried about gas mileage then why not just stick with the stock cam.Good luck, Boss66 ------------------ 1966 Coupe 72 HO 351c 4v open 282S cam, Strip Dom int MSD 6al Tubular Auto Swap Headers toploader 4sp 9" 3.70 rear

On the mileage issue, you're concidering a cam swap for increased performance, correct? I guarantee that you'll drive around with your foot in it much more frequently I personally wouldn't waste my time/money on a that small a camshaft; the gain would be negligable compared to the stock profile. Too true! I put a 270S in my stroker, and I'm kicking myself for not going with a 282S
Comming soon
