How does one go about calculating octane in a mixed setting? Like would 4 gallons of 100 and 4 gallons of 110 make 8 gallons of 105? Or is there more to it?

There may be more to it with the mix of different chemicals. But, that's close enough for most of us.

I thought I had some info that would answer your question, but I'm still looking for it......

The link below doesn't directly answer your question, but it does indicate that it isn't a straight 1:1 mix averaging process.... it is interesting, nevertheless.
