I've read on other posts on this board that the cutouts you can get with the cable to open them leak. If its not noticable, I dont care b/c I want to be able to open them on command without paying $100 a piece for electrics that will still leak a little. How bad is the leak? Can anything be done to make it not as bad or noticeable(like welding turndowns on it) or anything else I can do?

I tried them 30 years ago and took them off after a week. You might as well try them too. Once you do, you'll understand. But, heck maybe they are built better today? BTW I got them from JC Whitney back then too.

streetstang67, I had toyed with the idea of having cutouts. My thought was to run thru regular "acceptable sound-level" turbo mufflers piped all the way to the rear, and have the cutouts behind the header collector and opening to a pair of glasspacks that dump in front of the rear wheel like '65 Shelby's and NASCAR. I never was able to finish the car I was going to do this to, so it just remained an idea. By the way, I saw an exhaust system for a Hemi 'cuda or Challeger or whatever. The exhaust was run was run pretty much as described above, but there where pipes coming off at an angle that were open full time to the exhaust system that were just capped underneath the rocker. Not as spontaneous, but probably worked as well, if not better. Let us know what you end up with. Charlie
