Who makes a good brake for a C-4. I'm still using the early 24 spline trans. Do I need a later model. The couple of Ford racers I know using transbrakes use powerglides. I would like to stick with the C-4.

Just to be different, I'll throw out 2 other names. Performance Automatic and Dynamic make good transmissions, from what I hear.

I went with Dynamic. After sending JPT two EMails for a price quote on a C4 and converter and never getting a reply I started to do some investigating and noticed that on SEVERAL of the popular message boards all people came to the same conclusion that JPT has an excellent product but their customer service department is sub standard. Here are just a couple links that I found:http://stangcrazy.com/forums/showthread.php?s=d7bf92dcbd874cc5b2874c6b92dc312a&threadid=1037&highlight=Transmission+Problems and http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?s=d4c3547c994622ec684d09c6424b6ec2&threadid=244048&highlight=JPT+Trans I did the same search for Dynamic Racing Transmissions and found nothing but praise so I called them up and I must say it ranks among the best support I have had for a product. They really took their time with me and seemed very interested in getting me fixed up. Please dont get me wrong, I am certainly not bad mouthing JPT or his product but this board seems a bit biased towards him and just want to share my experience and findings with some users to expand the horizons a bit

A couple of things. 1) As a rule, we would prefer not linking items from other message boards here on M&M. Thank you. 2)There is only one person at JPT who is computer literate and it is NOT Jim Paquet. Bob, the shop foreman does his best to answer e-mails, but they DO NOT advertise on the internet or solicit business that way. E-mails are actually the last inquiries answered. You say you did your research and then "called" Dynamic. Did you ever try calling JPT? No matter if you didn't. Their shop is very busy. SO busy in fact that many times all of the phone lines are tied up. 2)This board may be biased towards JPT because of several factors. The product works, the quality is high, service is great, and JPT has more record holding NHRA and IHRA competitors then ALL of the other transmission companies COMBINED! No brag, JUST FACT! Also JPT is THE recognized FoMoCo performance transmision expert and inovator. No other shop has been building winning C-4's longer. I use and endorse the product. The 'brake in my C4 is a Transking. I t works real well. However, after the poor treatment I got from them several times while trying to buy a replacement part for my trans, I would not buy a glass of water from them jerks. If I were to buy a new one now, it would more than likely be a JPT.

I have only delt with JPT on the phone and they are great to talk to. Bob and Jim, are both great personalities. The last time I ordered a small part for my C4, Bob wouldn't even take my credit card info. He just said to put a check in the mail when you get the part. Now that's very trusting. They go above and beyond. The only tranny place I'll do business with. ------------------ Ben Grabber Green '70 Mach I 351C 4V Robbin Egg Blue '79 Fairmont 351C 4V

As I stated earlier, I did not post my message to down JPT in any way. It is obvious they have an excellent product and in the links above (I see links all the time on here to other boards...FordMuscle, etc...) there is far more good than bad words about them. I just thought I would share my experience with others so they could decide. After all, thats what this message board is for right? I am certainly not trying to become public enemy around here as I have gained countless knowledge that I am very grateful for from Alex and the rest of the gang here at M&M but I feel not being able to share my experience without people getting upset about it is just not right.

Mr. X,It's cool when I was looking for a c-4 I e-mailed Jim and didn't get any response either. I finally called and they were very good. We probably shouldn't even give out their e-mail addy. I think they are too busy building trannys. SteveW
