If a set of heads has a set of springs that are rated to 550 lift, Does that mean no matter what type of cam such as hydrolic roller or flat tappet they will work okay (as long as the lift is no more than 550) ?
It SEEMS like I remember hearing that hydrolic roller cams need stronger springs than a flat tappet cam with the exact same lift. Im in the market for some different heads for my 302,it seems that one of mine is cracked.

It means that they will not coil bind up to .550 lift. It has nothing to do with the seat pressure.
Yes, roller cams need a lot more seat pressure.

Ok well I have a Ford racing (motorsport)
M-6250 X-303 Hydrolic roller cam . I bought it used off of ebay and I dont have a cam card.
I cant find anywhere on the net what valve springs it needs THE SPECS ARE :

.542/.542 lift dur @ .050 is 224/224

lobe centers are int.107 ex.117

does anyone have a part number or the specs on what springs I need for this cam?

I would call the help line for Comp (or others...Crane may acually make the cam for Ford) tell them what cam you have get reccomendations.
Correct valve springs are very important.
