I see you are using a small Moroso crank pulley- when does your voltmeter start showing the alternator is charging? I'm going to put an alternator on the Fairlane and was wondering about when (RPM) it begins charging. I don't have a voltmeter on the car now, but I DID have one of those huge 5" alternator pullies, along with a similar sized crank pulley. It didn't charge that well until around 2500rpm. Now, I use the smaller crank pulley, along with a really small stock type alternator pulley. The crank pulley is significantly larger than the one on the alternator, so it spins plenty fast, and all is good.My car has a 4.33 gear in the back and no overdrive, so the old setup was fine, unless I did a lot of idling around. Now it works fine anytime. Sounds good. So it should charge at idle then. Thanks Mike!
