I was browsing thru Mikes web page and saw this link:http://home.isoa.net/~mharrisj/ns2.html even with 477ci what kind of power would it take to propell that tank to those speeds?! I gotta call B.S. on that one personally.

Nick Scavo is one of the fastest "street" racers around. At least his car could *sorta* pass for a street ride. ------------------ Jay Kilroy 68' Fastback GT 390 "No such thing as a cam thats too big"

i'm with u on this one xerox. 8.37 at 164MPH in the 1/4 mile does seem unusually fast for an impala, even with a 477.

That was probably a $20,000 477 from Fast Times in that impala. All killer double throw down stuff in it,don't let the cubes fool ya couple that with 400 hp of nos and hang on.Look at the small cube big blocks running super street in NMCA they are all in the 7'S with backhalve heavy cars.I've been following Chicago Street Racers for a long time its amazing how fast they go in heavy cars Dennis------------------ 69 fairlane 351w 12.94@103mph before M&M.. after?? always in search of more HP and faster ET'S Fstln69 Pics Page [This message has been edited by Fstln69 (edited 03-02-2003).]

That car has been in Hot Rod about a dozen times. Those impalas weigh about the same as a '70 chevelle. Probably 3800 pounds. That car might weigh 3600 if they worked on it. It is a very sell sorted out car. The engine may well be larger than 477 though..... Scavo used to have a plain looking 69 camaro that ran in the high 7s.....

I've known NIck for over 20 years. Good people. He has always had unique and fast stuff. The first engine in the 65 way back when probably cost over $20K without the spray.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
