Why would you bother with rollerized muffler bearings, when you won,t spend the money on a tea cozy style cover for the rear end so your gears won,t freeze up on you JOHN ------------------ 65 2+2 FASTBACK 87 TAURUS WAGON 98 F150 XLT TRITON V8 4.6, 4 WHEEL DRIVE Member:Vancouver Island Mustang Association M&M #1710 MyPhotoPage MY TRUCK

Ok this has got to be the dumbest question that has ever been asked ,but it got me thinking, what would happen if you DID put helium in the tires? (Try not to laugh @ me too too hard.

Kell,I'm glad Alex thought it was funny. I was laughing pretty hard when I wrote it. This is not about racing but I remember an incident in pro football when the opposing team seized the football because they thought the Oakland kicker, Ray Guy, was putting helium in it for his punts. Just mt opinion but I don't really think it would help anymore to run helium in tires than to just have one of those metallic, "I love you" balloons, they sell at grocery stores, floating in your interior. I agree, with JoeD, nothing. However, just for something to consider,,,, Airplanes and maybe some exotic landspeed racers fill their tires with nitrogen rather than air - to reduce/eliminate the oxidation process by not having oxygen inside their tires. (Recall, air contains 20.9% oxygen). I also recall a situation not that long ago where a certain NASCAR driver was accused of running a non-air "gas" in their tires.....
