girlfriend got me some 411 gears (she's going straight for my heart!!), and a guy at the auto repair shop by my house said they wont fit on my current 9" carrier (limmited slip posi with 3.00). He said the 9" came in different bolt patterns for the different gear ranges of 3.XX, 4.XX, and 5.XX. Is this true? Whats up, never heard of this before...------------------ 67 coupe (my first car in '78) 10:1 302, 4spd, 9" (lsd)posi windsor jr heads* *(tweaked by Lindvig mach.) crane rollers performer rpm (match ported) holley 750 (#4160) hooker super comp. full msd drag radials (oops, ran out of $$$)

GMs have different carriers for 4.xx or larger, or 3.99s or smaller, but Fords take the same carrier bolt pattern for all carriers.Find a more qualified installer. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com
