Well I finally got a few free minutes to take the timing chain cover taken off (thanks to my dad who had some free time and decided to help me out and take some of the front stuff off) and well, its not pretty. One set of the links are stretched and broken, the chain was hanging straight down off the cam gear. So I decide to crank the cam to check that out. Well it sounds like it ate something on the passengers side (at least I dont have to pull the upper intake with the passenger side) so I will pull the valve cover the next free moment I have. I hate that @#@$#*#@% timing chain .------------------ Tim M&M Member #35 1965 Mustang coupe, 200 I6, Holley 2300, Clifford header, true duals w/ 26" Smithys 1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% stock w/ no traction https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/I65Stang.html

Ouch Is that a 5.0 HO? Should be a double roller, yes? I think I remember reading one of your threads on the topic... how many miles?

Yes, its a 5.0 HO. The engine has ~3K miles on it since I built it, heads were also redone at the same time. I was hoping and praying for no damage as it died on me at a stop sign but its not looking good based on sound. Damn timing chain .
