Some of you guys must be using these. Seems like M/T and Hoosier all say to use tubes. Are you all using tubes or do you have to? I've heard of cases where the local gendarmes have ticketed some using these tires even with the DOT label. Anybody have an problems with your local lawmen? Looks like M+H Racemaster is making a comback. They make a set of DOT slicks which they say are tubeless. Anyone using these yet? I'm kind of thinking about that one. There is a M+H dealer in Bakersfield. I would prefer slicks but there isn't much trunk space to carry slicks in a Stang.....

I use 26x11.5in M/T ET Streets.. I use a tube in mine because i run in True Street classes and we do a 30mile cruise.. I know in Drag Slicks on the Fairlane we dont use a tube.. less weight..

I run the MT ET streets. I run mine tubeless and I think that pretty common. Mine don't lose any air at all.

I have also run the M&H street & strip tires in the past and I ran them both with and without tubes. The MT's seem to hook up better than the M&H's though.

My guess is if the police will get you for the MT's they will also get you for the M&H's because they look almost identical but they both have the DOT on them. The Hoosiers actually look a little more like slicks to me, so they may be a little more of a problem.

The trick to running tubed slicks, tubeless is to coat the inside of the tire with dishwashing liquid. It's worked well for me on et streets and et drags. They still leak a little, like a couple pounds a week.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll probably go without tubes. Just use Dove for dishes and tires. LOL

Please refrain from using the word gendarmes as it violates the boycot against those unsupportive french b*st*rds. Failue to observe this boycot could result in the loss of posting priveleges. However, the british constable and spanish policias are perfectly acceptable.

I run Hoosier Quick Time Pros with no tubes. They work fine.
I have been pulled over by a local policeman. He told me they weren't legal in Indiana regardless of the DOT stamp. He didn't give me a ticket. Just a verbal warning. Nice guy.
