I am building a 351C engine and it has come time to get a tranny lined up. The car has an FMX in it, but I think that has to go. I have an option to get a C6 tranny and converter from a guy who raced a 351C. This is what he says about the tranny:"C6 tranny, small-block bellhousing, big-block internals, CJ converter, ~3000 stall speed, race prepped, shift kit (still auto-shift), with flexplate, spacer, car mounting hardware, make me an offer." His engine was a 351C 4V motor with a cam with 245deg duration @.050. The motor I built is a 351C 2V with a 214/224, .510/.536 lift, 110LCA cam, Xcelerator intake, 750 Holley vac. sec. carb, and 1.75 pri. headers. My question is, does anybody know anything about a CJ converter, and will it be an OK stall speed for my motor? Car is a '70 Mach 1, 70% street, 30% drag. He also has a balanced driveshaft and a 3.50 ratio, 28-spline equi-lock posi 9" rear to sell (again, make an offer). So, out goes the 302/FMX/stock driveline/8" and in goes a 351C/C6/balanced driveshaft/9" posi. Opinions? What would be a reasonable offer?

Yes it will work OK. Not optimum, but well for your plans.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
