Getting the ole '89 LX in the home stretch for a debut this spring on the track. (Man I gotta keep going or I'll blow another year!).

The car is not tubbed and I have a custom 9" rear end setup with adjustable upper and lower control arms. The housing width is same as the Ford 8.8.

I am wondering what is the tallest and widest tire I can hope to run on this pony (without more than 4 lb hammer modifications)? I believe I have read somewhere that the largest is a 28" x 10.5" x 15".

Is anyone running a 29" tall tire?

I'm open to your experiences and comments.

thanks
Gene

9.0 x 30 Hoosier radials on a 15 x 8.5 wheel will fit with a bit of minor pounding.
The 10.5 x 28.0 M/T will also fit with the correct back spacing but stick out of the wheel well.
