Watching qualifing tonight i saw that NHRA changed over to LED bulbs on the tree. What effect you guys think this will have on us bottom bulb leavers?I know where on that last bulb i would leave and now how the hell you going to judge when on the bulb you want to leave? They just can't leave well enough alone Dennis------------------ 69 fairlane 351w always in search of more HP and faster ET'S

led's cost about 1/100 of the price/power to light up...they are also brighter.if the tracks save some money, some of that might be passed on to us racers, and some of it may lead to better track conditions Don't allways think so negative....

Our understanding is that the LED lights will only be at tracks with National Events. SOOOO . . . there will even more of a challenge now that everyone has to be able to switch back and forth. LED at Nationals and National event tracks, regular incandescent bulbs at any other track unless the track owner wants to put in the new tree on his/her own. I'm sure they will all eventually have to switch over but it may take some time. I will say it looked like it was much easier to see in the sun from the coverage last night. But I guess we will find out at Joliet. ------------------ Beth Head Cheerleader for Moneymaker Racing! I'm so proud of Alex & Tony! And.......only at NHRA tracks. IHRA has no plans to adopt the LED trees. They are cheap! My boys at Pomona all seemed to like the new lights. Much easier to see. Just takes a bit of learning to react to the quicker lumination.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." The Pro Stockers were red lighting a lot tonight. It seems to have effected them more than the fuel cars.------------------ Ben Grabber Green '70 Mach I 351C 4V Robbin Egg Blue '79 Fairmont 351C 4V

Warren had some terrific reaction times. It's gonna take me a LONG time to get used to the .005 system. Alex and I are still calling it a .505 or whatever. It's going to take some getting used to, but I know what NHRA is doing, and it makes sense for the fan base.Wonder if IHRA will be following suit? ------------------ Beth Head Cheerleader for Moneymaker Racing! I missed it - Didn't John Force get shot down by a red light too? But I saw that his teammate wasn't bothered by the LEDs.....
