You CAN use Yates heads on a 8.2" deck motor. The Ford based "Trans Am" series racers do. Ford sells intakes to fit. However you are throwing away a lot of money to use Yates heads in non professional competition IMHO. There are plenty of inline valve heads that will work well for street strip and pure race applications without hurting your life savings like a set of Yates. BTW you need special pistons (valve relief locations), Jessel type rockers, custom headers, etc... to run the Yates heads. Maybe the guy was talking about piston valve reliefs when he said you couldn't use Yates heads.

Why would anyone want to? That's a serious high RPM head. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
