A friend has a 40 Ford coupe just put in one of Fords new 302 crate engines ,wants more and is looking at one of the Holley blower setups ,street use will this thing put out too much boost to run without pinging itself to death? I think it's 9.8 and Holley says about 7-8# boost. any body tried this kind of combo??

Well, I don't know much about the Holley blowers. I seem to remember hearing less than stellar reviews on the Corral about them. Something about the pulleys not wanting to line up. Anyway, the crate engines have hypereutectic pistons, which means if you do boost it, make sure your A/F is safe...

The Holley blower is a refined version of the B&M system. It's OK for a more show than go street rod.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
