My friend picked up an old Performer intake that looks great but the threads are striped for the distributor hold down. How can he fix it?

Was thinking of that but will it hold since the hole goes straight through. I?ve used them before but always had something to limit how far it went in.

I have used a Heli Coil on the dist. hold down hole on my FE 428 aluminum intakes, which also is an open hole. I put a small drop of Locktite on the insert when I installed it, & let the Lockite fully set before putting the bolt in. Never had a problem after that. What type of engine are you dealing with, anyhow? The FE is the only Ford I`m aware of the has the dist. bolt in the intake, but Edelbrock never made a Torquer for the FE. Just curious.
