who makes the best converter? Our current converter is a Hughes 8 inch described like this, PRO-III SeriesThis series is available in 8", 9", and 10" configurations and is among the best known full competition unit. Literally thousands of these units have been produced, and when repeatability is important, this is the converter most people insist on. The prime characteristic of PRO III SERIES torque converters is the hard launch, but soft transition down track, allowing more consistency and ability to repeat. In many cases, variance of 60' times will only be a few thousandths from the first to the last round. ------------------

Hans, for a FoMoCo stocker you really only have two choices and regardless of who you choose, it should be an 8 inch with your combo. 1) JPT. Nobody has more experiance with FoMoCo's and C-4 converters. NOBODY! Jim has more record holding FoMoCo's than all of the others combined.2) Munsinger. Mike Munsinger does only converters and nothing else. He is in my oppinion the best sole, overall converter man in the business. He does a lot of FoMoCo stuff, and has a handle on the FE stockers. I would still give the edge to JPT for a small block stocker converter and that's not because I am biased. I just look at the record books and Nitro Joes stats. That should be endorsement enough. No brag, just fact! ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Munsinger is likely one of the best known Stock/Super Stock convertor builders. I don`t know if he still does it, but California Ford SS racer Len Schnieder was also building convertors for Stock & S/S racers, but I haven`t heard anything about him or his 351C SS/GTFA T Bird in a few years.------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA Stocker under construction, 302 5 speed 59 Meteor (Canadian Ford) 2 dr sedan 332, auto 74 F350 ramp truck 390 4spd
