installed pro form main body to get extra 100 cfm last week.had to jump way up in jetting but thats tipacle.car responded vary well to down leg booster and extra cfm.nice crisp throttle response throughout rpm range.here is prob ,when starting dead cold motor will lite without ever touching loud petal and sometimes will backfire extremly loud out exhaust and die!! then it takes some peddle pumping to get fired.i guess it is trickling fuel into manifold and puddling over nite,but i looked all the way down intake plenum with surgeons probe flashlite and cant see any fuel.even techs at proform are stumped

You didn't do anything else, just the carb mod right?Soes it run right after you fire it up the second time? SteveW

steve,just did carb mod,nothing else.i can start it in morning without depressing loud pedal,but it will run for only couple seconds then die.then i have to depress pedal half way (to activate acc. pump)it then fires and i have to feather pedal for about a minute befor it will idle on its own (typical dp without choke)float levels are ok.set idle mixture screws with vacumm gauge (dont have sec. mixture screws)twice it backfired at initial turn of key (only did this when sat overnite)it is an exaust backfire with long flames and enough noise to startle neighbors several blocks away

It's not dribbling a little gas down into the plenum after you shut it off is it?

i dont see any fuel dribbling.if it was wouldnt have to come from squirters or boosters?i would think if there was tiny amount would evaporate.when i shut down hot engine and pull air cleaner there is strong vapor smell (just dont see it).obviosly some gas is making into motor cause like i said,when starting first thing in morning without touching accelerator it lites instatanious and runs for brief period.then to restart it acts like normal dp without choke (requires fuel from acc. pump)
