Not on my Mustang but on my 73 chevy truck. I developed a bad skip shortly after replacing my spark plugs and had noticed a puff of smoke when I started my engine. I decided to replace the valve stem seals. When I got to the third valve, the spring was broke. No big deal, I had a spare set of heads so I just swapped the spring. Now the valve or rocker is ticking. What could that be? I adjusted the valves with the engine running and all rockers are getting plenty of oil. Where should I start looking? It wasn't ticking before.

Loose valve guide is one area. The rocker tip or fulcrum can also be worn out.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Thanks Alex. It's a CC Magnum roller rocker and it's definately a rocker arm sound. Can rocker arms be purchased individually?
