replaced two peice rear main on 1972 302 block with stroker crank.slowed it down alot but still leaves about a tennis ball size puddle overnite.noticed new crank does not have knurling or ridgewall (for lack of better term)to help rear main seal.could it possibly be cam plug or galley plugs.hate to pull trans and find ok,but leaks drive me crazy.do all 7000 rpm 302s leak?i have never had a leak free one!!!!!!!!!!

You need to install some dye in the oil. Then with a black light you can verify where the leak is actually coming from.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Most parts stores that have machine shop services carry the dye and will loan out the black light. Yu can leave it in with the oil.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." A low tech method is to use talc powder on the area and look for the fresh wet spot. Hey that reminds me of a fat girl story.... Oh nevermind. SteveW
