when its time to take a look at my current setup on my 408w, thinking of cam and porting my sr heads, the only problem i having is getting more hp, but without losing good low torque for street driving, now i have posted before that i might change cam and maybe manifold, cam is hy roller 218 228 536 536 112, small cam for a stroker but when i get on it in first gear it rips, stealth 750 hp, 2500 stall,JPT c-4, i dont want to move up the rpms without going to crazy on the stall, thinking of sending it back to JPT and going to 3000 stall to make up loss rpms down low, would that be right with bigger hy roller, thinking of lunati grind 51012 with 290 300, 232 242, 544 560 112 two grinds up from what i have now, think i can use same springs, also what about the stealth? keep it or vic jr, thanks ps heads now are cnc ported.

Which springs are on it now? The stock ones that come with Vic Jr heads are good for a lot more cam than that. I don't think you'll need to port the cnc'd heads either! Just change the cam, add a Vic Jr intake, and have JPT redo the converter based on the new engine specs. With the correct converter you won't have to worry about bottom end torque. You'll just be worrying about how to keep it from smoking the tires off in third gear.

steve66, i think the springs are the same for the three lunati cams on their site, same part number, but i'll check with them to make sure, the heads seem to make good power up to 6000 grand on the dyno so i think a cam change and vic jr manifold with a higher stall will really wake this thing up, not that its slow by any means, just want more power to back up the 408, seems smaller strokers are putting out more power than mine, so i need to get some bigger numbers for sure, thanks keep you guys posted in the coming months.

IMHO 3K stall sucks on a frequently driven street car. The car takes off(on normal acceleration) like a rental go cart that you have to rev up to get it to move.
I would go with a 225 or 230 dur cam and keep the 2500 rpm converter, or swap to a tremec and run a larger cam.

How much compression do you have BTW?
