Hey Guys,

This has been an slight issue since we've put the motor in. When starting the engine cold for the day, I have to hold the rpms to 1300-1500rpm for at least 2 minutes. Then I can gradually remove my foot from idle. When warm it idles at 1000-1200rpm in park. I am not utlizing the manual choke at this time.

Is there reason for concern here? Or is this how a medium/wild motor operates? I've taken a propane tank with an open valve to the entire intake and carb areas and no idle spikes. It's timed at 34* @ 3000rpm. No vacuum advance.

Thanks in advance.

Erik

Got the same thing going on. It's worse in colder weather.

You guys can richen your idle a little for the wintertime. Another 1/2 turn CCW should help and raise you idle speed just a touch too. You shouldn't need a choke in our climate. Just pump the gas to prime it and run.
