I just bought a quick change fuel bowl off of e-bay part number 34-25. It was in the sealed box, so it has never been opened, but when I opened it i could clearly see problems with the finish. It is supposed to be classic gold, but is all discolored. Like a blueish, redish tint to it in areas. Also there is no threads in the holes were the plugs go to block the hole for the jet removal tool. Is there supposed to be theads there, or are you supposed to make them with the threaded plug. Also what can I do about the finish on the fuel bowl? What type of float would you guys use a brass one or the black plastic one (I forget the techincal name)? My 3310 has a vent baffle on the top and is shown in the parts breakdown with my rebuild kit, but my 1850 doesn't have them. Do I need them to convert to the center hung bowls? Oh ya, I decided to go with the conversion block in the secondary side thanks to your opinions. Any more help would be appreciated. Thanks. Brandon.

Short of soaking the bowl in some baking soda, there isn't much else you can do with the finish. The plugs are self tapping. If memory serves me you need to use the plastic floats as you have to notch them so the jet tool clears. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
