Found a 4.6 ltr single cam in a 93 ltc. Does this thing have any speed potential or will it be a money pit to try to get it to run as well as my well proven 302. What are the expected problems with thie one? Does anyone have any performance cams for this engine? Summit appears to have nothing.

Welcome to M&M bigbore . Save your money. The 4.6 has a long way to go to catch up with the 302. Sean Hyland has cams and othe performance parts but all is very expensive and the engines are tedious to work on. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Not to mention they are as wide as a 460.

The 96 is a dog. If you want a SOHC 4.6 you need a 99+ from a Mustang. They love boost but other than that the aftermarket is pretty limited.
