Anyone here know the diff in weights of a 68 Mustang front end(control arms, springs & towers, shocks, steering box & linkage) compared to say the Mustang 2 piece that Jegs has out now? I cant use a decent set of headers now due to clearance. I have a good set, Jet Hot coated, side outlet but they are for an open tube type chassis with rack. If there is not a substantial weight savings it wont be worth it to me. Too old & too much work!------------------ BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE!!!!!

50-100 lbs probably, depending on what parts are used on either (like brakes) Header clearance may improve, but the headers for a tube chassis car almost always are for the engine being much further rearward than stock, doubt they'd fit.

Mine is moved back 8 in. the other headers I have were taken off a 67 with a 466 with about same set back. It had at the time a Mustang II suspension on 2X3 rails. Had a new chassis built by ProMax & campaigned it in Pro Mod with a 632. The reason I say this is the engine was sold to someone in Canada, cant remember who, this was in 96.Anyway,most of my firewall is alum now, have removed most of inner wall of spring towers. This is a race only car & was looking in new Jegs book at the lightened kit they now have, however the orig. (or whats left) cant be too heavy as most of it is stamped pieces. Just thought someone might know.------------------ BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE!!!!!
