I'm looking at a set of 1 3/4 X 32" with 3"collecter Hooker Supercomps headers. Is 1 3/4 primarys too large? What is the determining criteria? I'm aiming to go into the 12 second area with the 351W. I now go 13.70 with cast iron manifolds. I may only use the headers at the track.

Super Comps are the best.

Now you need a pair of alum heads and a matching intake.

How you gonna only use the headers at the track?
I've changed tires at the track but never a pair of headers.

Steve,
I had my exhaust built with the ability to disconect the pipes before the mufflers but after the 'dorky' X-Pipe to retain some scavaging. I still like the cast manifolds as the car appears to have a 'stock' motor and nobody thinks it can go fast or beat them.

With the stock manifolds it likely WON'T go fast enough to beat them... unless you are choosing off riceburners. Even the 1 1/2" or 1 5/8 headers are a huge improvement from those manifolds.
