Hey guys...I was wanting to install an MSD -6AL on my Mustang, but wondered if it's really worth the $200...I'm currently running a stock Duraspark distributor & box with a Blaster 2F coil. I've always read about the benefits of an MSD,but would like to hear it from a real racer...can anyone give me the scoop?
Thanks,
Tucker

I dont drag my car regularly, so I cant say if it lowered et's, but what I did notice was when I started up my car cold, it idled better and didnt stall(I dont have a choke)so it musta done something.Seemed to have more pick-up, but then waxing your car seems to make it faster so who knows .one other thing...I can definately say that it lets out a strong multiple spark(dont stand in a puddle with a wet hand on the distributor )

I`ve had a MSD 6T with seperate "soft touch" rev limiter & 2 step on my 428 for about 10 years now, never had a problem. I swapped it onto my 302 Fairmont for a while a couple of years ago, & while it didn`t make the car any quicker in the 1/4 mile than the stock Duraspark box, it did start noticably better when cold, & run nicer while warming up. I have talked to a couple of people who installed a MSD on their modified cars after failing BC`s annual "AirCare" emmisions test, & at least 1 of them passed after putting on the MSD unit. I like em.
