I know its been discussed before, but I did a search and could not find what I am looking for. I need to know where I can go to find the stock spark plug setting for the GT40 aluminum heads, 9:1 compression. Its an XB3 crate motor and the plug that came with it are Autolite 104s. I have messed with them so much recently, I can't remember the stock setting. Thanks.

You can't go wrong with a .035 to .040 gap. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." How much should the gap be increased with a Holley 800-200 Strip Annihilator and a Pertronix coil?

I would never gap a spark plug for a high performance application more than .040. This advice was given to me by our good friend and sponsor Don Ward, head performance engineer at Autolite. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
