.0015-.002 on the rods, .002-.0025 on the mains... piston tolerance is recommended by the manufacturer. 10.5:1 c/r will be tough to do without domes. With 58cc chambers and assuming flat tops, you'd need the pistons .005 out of the hole, .030 head gaskets netting you an assembled quench height of .025 That's too tight IMO, at least for anything above 5500-6000 rpm. You don't want your heads getting to know your pistons like that I squeezed 10.06:1 out of my 333 with a quench height of .035, and even with forged h-beam rods that's boderline for stratosphere rpm use ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

If I remember correctly, I had .006 crank thrust and .014 rod side clearance (2 rods, one journal) ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html [This message has been edited by V8 Thumper (edited 11-15-2002).]
