The only one I have seen at all is from PAW and they have SEVERAL quality levels. Speed-o-Motive has tons of kits and may possibly offer one for the 429 also. They have a great long time reputation. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." snake, Reasonable Price? What is that? You mean a BBF right? What do you want to do with it? RPM? Stock rods? Give us a little more info on what your looking for and maybe we can help. When you say a racing engine I am thinking Drag only. Correct? ------------------ Jerry Smith 69 Mustang Pro ET Drag 70 Mustang retired former footbrake car "Even a blind Hog can find an acorn every now and then"

50% street 50% race Rod bearings, main bearings, forged pistons, etc. Racing meaning forged, and full grooved bearingsWould like to know who sells things in kit form for these engines. First ford build up hence the questions and confusion. [This message has been edited by Snake_Eyes (edited 11-12-2002).]

http://www.speedomotive.com/They were my second choice for the rotating/reciprocating kit I had built for my little stroker. I went with Kuntz & Company and would recommend them to anyone, but I don't think they deal much with 385 series motors. Hey Alex, why is that? Just curious ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

TRW used to sell what was called a "Block module" (i think?) that was pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets and oil pump... cost hardly any more than the pistons and it was the 429 forged piston kit i bought.I have no idea if thats still offered, i found out about it thru a buddy, they don't advertise deals like that.

Kuntz just has not devoted much time and energy to the 385 series engines. His customer base has always been more small block W and C stuff plus the FE gang. He has built a couple of 385 series mega motors for a few S/C and S/G racers. They made gobs of power, but were 90% aftermarket parts. Read that as EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Side note: Also, due to the nature of Kuntz & Co.'s class racing affiliation in NHRA/IHRA NMRA/NMCA etc. programs, the 385 series has/had very limited usage potential. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." http://www.raceparts2000.com/ has an eagle stroker kit for 1499 and free shipping. includes crank, rods, bearings, rings and srp pistons. Unless engine systems has changed in the last few years, i would stay away from them. had some bad experiences with them and their stuff.
