Actually it is a Holley 950 HP that was modified by Quik Fuel. Seems like a great carb, it has a lot of the trick parts on it and the the throttle bores were slightly enlarged over a 950 HP, I think to 1.40 vs. 1.375.Anyway, I can't get my plugs to clean up. I switched to hotter running spark plugs and this definitely helped since I could at least begin to see the electrodes! Before, they were completely black and sooty. But the base circle thread was still black and sooty. I then jetted the promaries down to 74 jets from 76's and still, the plug base circle is dark and slightly sooty. I wouldn't even mind this, but if the car idles for a while I can tell that the plugs are loading up because the engines idle starts to surge and vary between 900 and 500 RPM's. Is this carb just to big for my Cleveland for driving around?? ------------------ '69 Mustang Fastback, 351C, Holley 950 HP, New Parker Funnelweb,4-v quench heads ported, 10.75:1, UD pulley, windage tray, Top Loader, 3.89 9" rear [This message has been edited by '69Stang (edited 11-11-2002).]

If you have taken out the power valves , drill two small holes in the front butterflies, look in the holley book I had a 830 annular that did the same thing, what plugs are you running? is your float level correct? I have had god luck with champion plugs believe it or not,I kept fouling out autolights
