Which carb do you think will run better on my car? A 600 vaccum secondary, or a 600 double pumper? It currently has a 302 with a performer 289 intake and a mild cam, pertronix ignitor 2 and flame thrower 2 coil with the big cap conversion and 9mm frpp wires. Should have long tube headers by spring. What do you guys think? Thanks. Brandon.

Take into consideration your transmission type and your gearing when considering vaccum or mechanical secondaries. As a general rule manual transmission and strip type gearing necessitates(sp?) mechanical secondaires whereas an automatic transmission and more mild gearing will run best with vaccum secondaries. But all in all a 600cc size carb is a good choice for your setup.

That point is moot Bob. A poorly set up car won't run well no matter what carb/motor/trans you have in it. Point is all being equal, a DP Holley carb is ALWAYS quicker than a vaccum secondary Holley carb. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
